Sunday, June 6, 2010: Environment Council of Rhode Island

On Sunday, June 6, 2010, our guest speaker was Paul Beaudette. Rev. Barbara heard Paul Beaudette speak at the rally to reduce carbon emissions to 350ppm this past Fall.  He currently teaches The Climate Project to community groups throughout New England.  His talk emphasized the we need to think about the environment for our children and our grandchildren. He spoke about the organization, "Environment Council of Rhode Island", which he has been involved in for many years.

Westminster Interim Minister Announcement

The Interim Search Committee has made its selection for our Interim Minister!

Over the past two weeks we have spent numerous hours with each of our four Interim candidates and have had lovely conversation and learned so much about each of them. It was a unique opportunity to gush about all of you and all the tremendous things going on at Westminster. We do a lot of good work here.

Westminster to Host Presentation: "Moving Rhode Island Forward: Getting Back on Track by Fixing our Upside-Down Tax System"

Please join us at Westminster Unitarian on Sunday March 28th at 12:30pm in the Hedge room for a special workshop about how we can work to fight against devastating cuts to our cities and towns and help achieve a more balanced budget and tax system for Rhode Island.  The brief presentation will be followed by a group discussion and action opportunity to advocate for responsible and practical solutions to our budget deficit.
