Recovery from an addiction is a spiritual undertaking, a journey of reconnection to one's true self and one's deepest values.  With this new ministry, we hope to make a difference in the lives of Westminster members touched by drug and alcohol abuse by providing a caring and supportive community of fellow substance abusers and committed, non judgemental caregivers who respect the worth and dignity of every individual.

 

In 2010 we expect to begin an education program for the Westminster community about addictions and substance abuse .  We will also put together an Addiction Resource Center, start a First Responders group, look into starting a support/recovery group based on UU Principles and Purposes and conduct a congregational needs assessment.
