Being self-aware is part of a lifelong spiritual task. Cultural humility is an ongoing process of self-reflection and self-critique where we examine our own personal biases and cultural beliefs instead of assuming we know another person's culture without having lived it. This morning as we honor Indigenous People's Day, we do so with a deep awareness that we each are on a continuous journey of living into the question of how to truly appreciate another's life.
