All around the world and throughout all of our history, human beings have found the metaphor of a journey, quest, or adventure especially well-suited for describing the process of coming to understand one’s own self. We find the language of ‘journey’ in myths and legends, religion and spirituality, and even in modern traditions like psychoanalysis. This Sunday, guest preacher Matt Weinstein joins us for worship and to share some of the insights he has discovered on his own inner quest.
Matt Weinstein, a reincarnated Californian, grew up in southern Ohio, went to college in southern Minnesota, and now lives in Somerville, Massachusetts. A recent graduate of the Harvard Divinity School and a candidate for ordination as a Unitarian Universalist minister, Matt is particularly interested in the fertile ground that exists in the space between spirituality and psychotherapy. When he isn’t lost in his own head, Matt enjoys gardening, Ikebana (the traditional Japanese art of flower arranging), and reading science fiction.
