“Honoring the Past, Memories of Henry Sharpe”
Sharpe Wisdom
Henry Sharpe Jr. passed away recently at the age of 99. In addition of being a titan of global industry, he was a gentle giant in the history of Westminster Unitarian Church from the beginning of the East Greenwich Era.
A former president of this church, his written words will be spoken aloud, to share his wisdom, of church remaining open to all opinions. More than ever we need this message in the current age of polarized politics. Henry was also a strong believer in a minister’s right to an open pulpit, more enduring insight as we will soon start the process of a search for a new settled minister.
A celebration of his life will be held in October at First Unitarian Church in Providence. This service will focus on his legacy of shaping the church of what Westminster is today.
Please come with a personal reflection of Hank to share or simply enjoy as we remember his love of nature, poetry and music.
